Crystal was raised on a ranch near a small town in Western Canada. Her father was a cutting horse trainer and so the whole family was immersed in the horse industry. Crystal went through the local 4-H program as a young girl, then on to compete in Quarter Horse shows in pretty much all events including reining and cutting. Helping with the family training business allowed her to get lots of experience riding and working with  many different breeds of horses.

Crystal’s focus switched to the world of dressage about 30 yrs ago. Dressage appealed to her because of the on going training involved to get a horse to to the highest level of Grand Prix. Over the years she has trained and competed many horses to the FEI level Internationally. One of the highlights of her dressage carrier was being chosen as a member of the Canadian Dressage Team and winning a silver medal at the 2011 Pan American games which was held in Guadalajara Mexico.

Crystal is a specialized competition coach licensed with Equine Canada. She enjoys coaching all levels of both the english and western disciplines. She gets enormous satisfaction out of helping riders learn to connect with their horses to achieve there goals in harmony. It is this philosophy that has drawn her to the cowboy dressage. She believes that the dressage and horsemanship are a natural blend and complement each other beautifully !
