Rebecca Wirth and Ella

I’m a horse trainer (50yrs.) / riding instructor (20 yrs.) from Estacada Oregon. I started with a little QH (Little Joe) we did rodeo drill team and some gaming.  Turning professional in the 1960’s as a teenager, riding Arabian horses in everything from Saddle Seat Eq. and Sidesaddle to Stock Horse and Trail classes. At the same time I began competing in open shows in Conformation Hunter Over fences and Dressage on my Thoroughbreds and Anglo Arab.  I also loved my 50yrs. of getting away from it all wilderness trail riding with pack horse in tow.

In more recent years the rise of popularity in Versatility, Mt. Trail, Challenges and Extreme Events, I found them a fun way to combine all the disciplines I had ridden over the years.   I started Ella with this in mind.  We were in the money most competitions.  Freestyle routines being a part of many of these events, I began teaching myself and Ella the Art of La Garrocha seven years ago.

At the 2014  Cowboy Dressage World Finals Ella and I became the Open Freestyle Champions,  Open WJL Champion,  High Score Overall,  Open Soft Free and came in Third Over All.

I’m starting a Saddlebred filly for my next Cowboy Dressage horse.  At her first Cowboy Dressage Gathering this year she won High Point Overall and High Point Soft Feel.
